Morrinsville School operates a strong outdoor education programme.
The junior school (Yrs 1-2) have an annual trip to the beach or zoo.
Every year our Yr 4 visit the Pukemokemoke Reserve and the Yr 6 tamariki spend a day at Waimarino Adventure Park on the first Friday of December.
Yr 3 visit Waharau Regional Park and stay at Waharau Camp for 3 days in October. Activities include the Miranda Shorebird Centre, Tapapakanga Regional Park, rocky shore study and Te Aroha Hot pools.
Yr 4 stay at Waitawheta for 4 days in November enjoying rock climbing, abseiling, bush walks, train trip and visiting the Karangahake historical gold mining site.
Yrs 5 & 6 stay at Port Waikato Camp for 6 days. Activities include sand dune hike, Devlin’s Dash hike, camp cooking fossiling tent pitching, stream study, caving, BMX, mud fight, abseiling, camp out, swimming in rock pools, climbing wall, disco, obstacle course, eeling, waterfall walk, low ropes, spotlight, burma trail and a camp concert.
Yrs 7 & 8 Leadership Camp at Waitawheta with the ai of building stronger relationships and develop students’ confidence. Activities include bush walks, swimming and kayaking.
Yrs 7 & 8 have a camp at Wellington for 5 days. Activities include visiting Waiouru Army museum, Te Papa Museum, Weta studio and cable car ride.
